Samsung Engineering and Svante Technologies have forged a pact to accelerate commercial carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects in Asia and the Middle East.
According to Environment+Energy Leader, the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two companies underscores their commitment to mitigating carbon emissions in hard-to-abate sectors like cement, steel, and fertilizer by leveraging Svante’s cutting-edge carbon capture technology.
“The time is now for the CCUS industry value chain players to rethink how they approach projects to deliver them faster, cheaper, and more efficiently,” said Hong Namkoong, the president and CEO of Samsung Engineering.
Amid the growing global investments in carbon capture technology, this alliance could set a precedent in the industry, offering a viable path toward achieving net-zero emissions goals.
The strategic partnership was unveiled at the ADIPEC 2023 conference in Abu Dhabi, spotlighting the joint endeavor to develop and deliver CCUS projects and optimize performance through an integrated project delivery model.
